(one of) my pick(s) for Banned Book Week is Fanny Hill of Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure (1748) by John Cleland

According to Wikipedia: “Banned in the U.S.A. in 1821 for obscenity, then again in 1963. This was the last book ever banned in the U.S.A”

I started this book last winter not expecting it to be so smutty. Since I do most reading on my commute, on breaks at work or in public, it wasn’t the right thing to keep in my purse. Since I’m trying to #DoAwesomeEveryDay this month and it’s Banned Book Week I’m going to pick this up and power through it this week.

What banned book are you reading this week?
