My favourite thing about this was collecting the Surgeon Genera’s Warnings. Canadian magazines aren’t allowed to carry smoking ads so I had to go into back issues of stuff. I think a few came form Jane and Rolling Stone, so I guess American mags distributed in Canada can/could have the ads.
It’s also kind of hilarious that the sexiest smoking pic that I could find at the time was of Colin Farrell. I think this comes from EW, circa 2002.

Matt, Pat and Keiffer

It is no exaggeration to say that Keiffer is one of my favourite people in the world. He’s away now at school, following his passion and I’m so so proud of him. But I remember after his gf picked him up from his going away party, sitting with Brit and Dan on the front steps of the place in Edgement. The three of us were crying and I was openly (and somewhat drunkenly) weeping as the sky got brighter and we knew exactly what was missing in our lives that moment.
You know how you regret the things that didn’t happen? I regret that I didn’t meet Keiffer earlier and that’s not really anyone’s fault, but it’s messed right up. Anyway, he’s going to be in town next weekend, and I’m so excited for that first moment when I see him! His hugs are great and no one listens or talks the way Keiffer does. I can’t wait for his tales.
